The Infrastructure Act 2015
5 March 2015 / 12 April 2015
Great Britain - wildlife/energy
The Infrastructure Act 2015 (Commencement No.1) Regulations 2015 brings sections of the Act into force. From 5 March 2015 Schedule 9 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 is amended to divide it to three parts: non-native species, native species and animals no longer normally present.
From 12 April 2015 powers will be available to regulators to require the control of invasive non-native animal and plant species with a significant adverse impact in England. The Secretary of State will also be required to produce a strategy to maximise the economic recovery of UK petroleum. Powers are also granted to impose levies on holders of certain energy industry licences.
