General permitted development may be carried out without the need for a planning applicaiton, provided that given conditions are met.
The Planning (General Permitted Development) Order (Northern Ireland) 2015 revokes and remakes the Planning (General Development) Order 1993 and its amendments under the Planning Act (Northern Ireland) 2011. Types of general permitted development remain unchanged as a consequence of the 2015 order, but the regime will be administered by district councils, who are to become planning authorities from 1 April.
