Directive 2014/94/EU imposes requirements on the deployment of alternative fuel infrastructure. Member states will be implement national policies to support roll out of alternative fuel infrastructure. This policy must ensure that adequate electrical charging points are available for road transport by the given dates. Policies must ensure that adequate refuelling infrastructure is in place for hydrogen if the member state elects to support this fuel. An appropriate number of natural gas refuelling points should also be made available for marine use.
