Joint webinar by BSI, IEMA & SVUK: BS 8950 – Guide to Enhancing Social Value

6th April 2021

Our webinar included an overview of the findings from the authors of the BS 8950 - Guide to enhancing social value standard, including the difference between measuring and enhancing social value, insights from experts who reviewed the guide and practical recommendations from industry speakers and social value practitioners on how to put the Guide into practice and move beyond compliance with the Social Value Act.

In November 2020, the British Standards Institute (BSI) published BS 8950 - Guide to enhancing social value.

The Guide focuses on the role of organisations in understanding, preserving and enhancing social value. This webinar is intended to launch and introduce the standard.

Speakers included:

• Catherine Manning, Interim CEO of Social Value UK

• Jeremy Nicholls, Non Executive Director of Social Value UK (BS 8950 drafting panel member)

• Andrea Westall, BSI Committee Member (BS 8950 drafting panel member)

• Sarah Ottaway, Sustainability and Social Value Lead – SUEZ

• Marc Jourdan, IEMA Policy & Engagement Lead
