The Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme and Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2015 amend the Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme Regulations 2011 and the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme Regulations 2014.
These regulations come into force on the 27th July 2015 and Regulations 4, 9 and 11 to 13 come into force on 26th September 2015.
The amending regulations update technical standards under the 2011 regulations on plants generating heat and sustainability criteria for biomethane and solid biomass. Methodology for calculating the seasonal co-efficient of performance factor of heat pumps and land criteria concerning solid biomass is introduced.
Amendments to the interpretation section of the 2014 Regulations add references to the latest methodology for calculating the seasonal co-efficient of performance factor of heat pumps. Technical standards governing the installation of plants generating heat from biomass plants, ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps and solar thermal plants are also updated.
