The Planning (Wales) Act 2015 amends planning legislation in Wales in to support sustainable development goals in the Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015. Most sections to be brought into force by way of forthcoming orders.
The Act provides for the creation, approval and deployment of a national development framework and strategic development plans. Development plans for any area will consist of the national development framework, local development plan and the strategic development plan.
National-level decision-making will be required for developments of national significance.
Pre-application consultations will be required for certain developments, which are to be specified by future orders.
