Marine / Environment protection - Great Britain
The Offshore Petroleum Licensing (Offshore Safety Directive) Regulations 2015 update petroleum licensing requirements to reflect the implementation of the Offshore Safety Directive (2013/30/EU). These regulations establish criteria which must be met to obtain an offshore license and duties of licensees. Licensees are to be held financial liable for the remediation of environmental damage, and adequate financial provision must be in place to cover potential liabilities.
