Environmental protection - Great Britain
Enters into force - 29 March 2017
The Electricity and Gas (Energy Company Obligation) (Amendment) Order 2017 amends the Electricity and Gas (Energy Company Obligation) Order 2014 to increase the overall carbon emissions reduction target and the overall home heating cost reduction target.
This amendment also introduces new home heating minimum requirements and rural minimum requirements for phase 3 to be met where applicable. To achieve a qualifying action under the scheme, these new minimum requirements must be met where applicable to discharge the duties against targets set under the scheme.
In addition, the amendment extends the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme by 18 months to 30 September 2018 and updates the methods to calculate carbon and cost savings.
