The Contracts for Difference (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2016 make amendments to four regulations on the contract for difference (CfD) regime, which aims to support low-carbon electricity generation. Amendments will permit unincorporated associations to participate in the CfD regime. Organisations holding a capacity agreement under the capacity market regime are prohibited from obtaining CfDs.
CfD contract requirements are also updated, including to allow signed contracts to be updated to reflect modifications made to sustainability criteria.
