The Scottish government is consulting on plans to make ministers directly accountable for forestry strategy.
Although Scottish ministers determine strategy and policy for forestry in Scotland, the management of forestry has remained with the Forestry Commission (a UK non-ministerial department) since devolution.
The Scottish government is now consulting on plans to make ministers directly accountable.
The consultation closes on 9 November 2016.
