A consultation on the status of wind under the contracts for difference (CfD) scheme.
The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is consulting on its position that non-mainland GB onshore wind projects should not be classified as a separate technology or allowed access to pot 2 (less established technologies) under the CfD scheme.
BEIS maintains that non-mainland GB projects – on Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles – should continue to be treated in the same way as mainland onshore wind.
The consultation closes on 31 January 2017.
