Directive (EU) 2016/774 amends exemptions under the End-of-Life Vehicles Directive 2000/53/EC on the use of lead, mercury, cadmium or hexavalent chromium (chrome VI) in materials and components of vehicles. Annex II of the End-of-Life Vehicles Directive 2000/53/EC lists materials and components of vehicles exempt from restrictions on the use of lead, mercury, cadmium and chrome VI. Directive (EU) 2016/774 adds 24 materials and components to this list and removes four uses of lead from the list.
