From today members are able to view a draft response from IEMA to a DECC consultation which calls for greater price certainty within the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme.

The response is being made to the updated draft CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme Allocation Regulations, which include the allowance price of 12 for 2012 (announced as part of the 2011 Budget) and with future carbon prices left as a matter for the Budget process. IEMA will also respond to HM Treasury ahead of the 2012 budget.

IEMA's draft response has been compiled following a lively on-line CRC scheme discussion which took place last November on IEMA's LinkedIn Group . It also progresses our findings from the GHG Management and Reporting Special Report from 2010 and the recently launched IEMA Climate Change Position Statement.

The draft IEMA response is available via the link below and any feedback to this response is welcome.

Members who would like to comment can contact Nick Blyth - IEMA's Policy & Practice Lead for Climate Change - at mailto:[email protected] or on (01522) 540069.

Alternatively, why not join the conversation online via the IEMA discussion thread on LinkedIn?

If you have never taken part in a consultation before this would be an interesting introduction to the process as this is an unusual format so well worth some attention. So download the response now!
