The charity Mind has been awarded funds from the Big Lottery Fund's Changing Spaces programme to launch Ecominds', a 7.5million five-year grant scheme that will fund approximately 125 new and existing projects around England focusing on mental health and the environment. Ecominds aims to facilitate the involvement of people with direct experience of mental distress in environmental projects that improve mental and physical health, and local communities. A key objective is to reduce the stigma surrounding mental distress and help create a society that treats people with experience of mental distress fairly, positively and with respect.
