Environment Minister Ian Pearson and his Irish counterpart Dick Roche have met to discuss how the two nations can best deal with the unavoidable impact of climate change. The talks, taking place as part of the British-Irish Council (BIC), were hosted by Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott and attended by Irish Foreign Minister Dermot Ahern. One of the main outcomes of the summit was that BIC members agreed to cooperate and share information on a number of new areas.
