Neal is a Director of the Environmental Consultancy business within WSP UK. Neal has 24 years experience both in the UK, but significantly internationally. While holding board responsibilities within WSP’s Environmental business area, Neal’s main role is to lead the UK Strategic Advisory Service Line Group, with a team of 150+ consultants that deliver across the service areas of; Environmental and Social Management, Sustainability, Energy Management, Health, Safety, Asbestos, Transactional Support and Waste and Resources Management. Alongside a focus in Corporate Sustainability, Industrial Emissions Permitting, EMS, Auditing, Training and Impact Assessment, Neal’s main focus for the last 20 years has been on international projects, in particular in support to Development Finance Institutions, Commercial Banks and Project Developers, to undertake Environmental and Social Due Diligence, ESIA and Social / Environmental Capacity Building Programmes. He has worked very widely across four continents and across many sectors, including for major industrial facilities, oil and gas, power generation and transmission, waste management and major infrastructure developments.
Neal is an IEMA Fellow, a Charted Environmentalist, a Registered Environmental Auditor and is actively involved in supporting IEMA with a number of committee areas. Neal also holds a Visiting Lectureship at the University of Manchester, teaching on their EIA Master’s Degree programme for the past 20 years.
