Dr. Uche Okere

Academic Lead – Environmental Management at the University of Derby

Dr Uche Okere is an Academic Lead for Environmental Management at the University of Derby and leads the MSc Sustainability and Environmental Management programme. With a research background in environmental microbiology and ecotoxicology, he has taught environmental management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in UK Universities for over 12 years.

He has worked with the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) to develop and deliver CPD courses to environmental professionals in various sectors including oil and gas, maritime and finance in the both the UK and abroad.

Dr Okere also works with organisations to improve their environmental performance, through staff development and implementation and maintenance of environmental management systems.
