MSc Sustainable Management

Sustainability is a driving force in shaping organisational strategy. Progressive and ambitious companies take a lead in sustainability and embrace opportunities in the new economy. As a result, there is an employment market need for professionals with an advanced knowledge of organisational approaches to managing sustainability.

This course develops the personal and professional skills needed to be a key player in this global knowledge-based field. The study programme incorporates core areas of sustainability within the corporate sector along with logistics management and its role in sustainability management. Students also explore the relationship between the economic ambitions of businesses and the growing global need to meet sustainability targets, in particular carbon emissions and biodiversity. The course assumes a central role for deploying environmental management systems and carbon accounting. Corporate governance and international law are an integral part of students’ understanding of the global nature of sustainability.

In line with the School’s practice-based approach to learning, the course offers a combination of academic study and working with industry on real sustainability-related challenges.
