This month’s Impact Assessment network webinar provides delegates with greater clarity and understanding of Health impact assessment (HIA). A topic that will be of interest to UK IA practitioners, given the increased profile Health plays under the amended EIA Directive, and those involved in international ESIA, where assessing health effects are already common place. To start off the webinar we will look at HIA its own right, providing an introduction to the subject and clarity as to the causes of health effects, which often have broad interactions requiring consideration of a range of social and physical determinants. Given this potential complexity, delivering a HIA should not be taken lightly, to help delegates understand the competency requirements to deliver an effective HIA, Martin Birley (from QMark registrant Jacobs) will use his substantial experience to provide an overview of HIA competency. The webinar will close with a HIA case study to provide delegates with a practical context to place the previous speakers learning points within.
