Accreditation and Certification

10th July 2014

Accreditation and certification are terms which are often used interchangeably but although these are closely related areas of practice, they are distinct and different. Many organisations now have a certified environmental management system (EMS) and understanding the principles and process which sit behind this, and the comparable ones which apply to the certifying body, can make navigating the certification process much easier.

This webinar provided an overview of the processes and key requirements which these two related but different areas cover. It also looked at the wider role of accreditation and the process certification bodies go through; with respect to certification, it looked at some of the key reasons for non-conformities arising and looked at what can constitute evidence in an audit.
