Evelyn has worked to transform people and culture practices at Patagonia, a ‘for planet company’, describing their only shareholder as ‘Mother Earth’.
Evelyn says:
“How do we keep the fire in people’s bellies to save our home planet, through their role – whether that may be in retail, logistics, IT, finance or anywhere else in the business? How do we nurture our people to speak out on the issues they are passionate about? How do we carry on with the nuts-and-bolts of our roles, while at the same time modelling an alternative approach to capitalism?”
IEMA’s environment and sustainability professionals are overseen by a diverse Board with a range of expertise, to help us shape a robust, sustainable future.
Louise Nicholls, Chair of IEMA’s Board said:
“I’m delighted to welcome Evelyn to the Board. With her extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of talent, learning, and development from her work at Patagonia, she will be a tremendous addition to our Board of highly talented senior professionals. We know we will benefit greatly from Evelyn’s passion to support sustainable environmental change, whilst securing a green economy for the future.”
Sarah Mukherjee MBE, CEO of IEMA said:
“Tackling the global challenges of environmental and sustainability requires people with the drive, skills, and training to make change and Evelyn joins us at a crucial time for shaping the future of responsible business. As we look to upskill our workforce globally, we need support from everyone in every sector to drive change, from supply chains to leadership, we all have a part to play.”
Evelyn Doyle will start in her role as Non-Executive Director for IEMA in January 2023.
