The Promotion of the Use of Energy from Renewable Sources Regulations 2011 transpose elements of the EU renewable energy Directive (2009/28/EC) by assigning responsibility for certain requirements – such as ensuring public buildings fulfil an exemplary role from 1 January 20120 – in the Directive to ensure they are met.
