Media focus on environmental skills

IEMA works to raise the profile of the environment profession

As part of a constant commitment to creating a sustainable future through the development of environmental skills, knowledge and thought leadership, IEMA dedicated the month of June to profiling the value of environmental roles within organisations.

Beginning with a UK membership survey and the launch of the competency framework, the campaign achieved significant coverage in the Guardian.

Entitled “Turn green for a fresh start”, the article used key findings from IEMA’s recent environmental skills and talent survey to demonstrate the high number of professionals entering environmental roles from other sectors and the high levels of satisfaction reported by those career changers.

A well-attended and lively webchat on 29 June followed the Guardian’s article.

Many other environment, business and human resources publications also featured our messages on the rate of individuals joining the profession and the value of the competency framework.
