About Rebecca

Rebecca Shadlock is a Technical Director for the Environment and Sustainability at Mott MacDonald based in Newcastle. An experienced environmental professional with eighteen years work experience. Rebecca started her career with the Environment Agency and progressed to work in petrochemicals, manufacturing and construction and is currently working for a global engineering, development and management consultancy. Rebecca is a natural leader and is focused on adding value and working collaboratively to deliver business priorities whilst minimising environmental impact and delivering sustainable outcomes.

About James

I am an Associate Director in the Turner & Townsend sustainability business, working across the sustainability agenda since 2009. Having worked in roles addressing energy, green infrastructure, governance, strategy, management systems, pollution prevention and GHG accounting across a range of public and private sector clients, I then moved in to the construction sector, tackling the big topics of embodied carbon and operational carbon in our buildings. Subsequently, I returned to consultancy where I work across a global portfolio, predominantly in the net zero carbon space, decarbonising construction and complex estates, among other sustainability topics.

I am an experienced professional across multiple sectors, currently operating in a regional role in my career. I would like to network with other professionals to extend my own network, learn, and share my experience and find new ways of working to further regional opportunities for the profession and to create impact, both inside the north east and to nationally connect the work we are doing here.
