Chartered Environmentalist Moves a Step Closer

Work to establish the new qualification, Chartered Environmentalist, has moved forward to the extent that, subject to approval from the Privy Council, the Society for the Environment (SocEnv) will be in a position to offer CEnv from early 2004.

A resounding yes to C.Env

There was a resounding "yes" vote to the polling question, "Would you like to be a Chartered Environmentalist?" which appeared on the home page of IEMAdotnet over the last few weeks. 666 votes were cast of which 87% were in favour, 4% were against, and 9% felt they needed more information.

The deadline for entry into the IEMA Student Essay Awards, sponsored by Bell College, is just a couple of weeks away. If you are a student and have recently written an essay relating to sustainable development then you could win yourself 800 plus a free training course, free attendance, free attendance at the IEMA Annual Conference and your essay published in ‘the environmentalist’ magazine.
