“There has never been a more vital time to adapt our ways of working to be more sustainable and robust, allowing us to tackle the challenges of the health emergency we are facing today and the climate and environmental emergency affecting us all. IEMA welcomes Astutis’ new online course delivery which will allow more learners to take the Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management in a way that fits in with their everyday lifestyle”. Martin Baxter, IEMA's Chief Policy Advisor
Developed in collaboration with IEMA, the new online course is suitable for those professionals starting a career in environmental management who want a develop a solid knowledge of governance principles alongside the breadth of the sustainability agenda. With many employees and learners having no choice but to work from home, the online course presents an opportunity to build career-enhancing skills whilst benefiting from all the perks of Associate Membership with IEMA.
To support those working from home, the course allows learners to work in their own time, wherever and whenever suits them. The structured online programme includes readily available interactive exercises, videos, downloadable study text, practice assessments and access to the Astutis TrackSmartTM tool, an aid to creating an individual study plan. Upon passing the course, learners will become Associate members of IEMA, providing them with a gateway into the profession.
Steve Terry, Managing Director of Astutis , is pleased to launch the new online course as he feels that Astutis has been quick to respond to the crisis by offering traditional classroom course learners the option of an online course.
He said: “Until the Coronavirus is under control, many employees and learners have no choice but to train and upskill from home. Astutis has a suite of online courses; therefore, learners can continue to build their skills and support their colleagues.”
“We are yet to realise the effect the outbreak has on the planet” commented Steve Terry, “however we do know that the changing environmental issues and the way we operate business and consume energy will herald an economic change in the 21st century. Jobs will follow, and this course positions learners to take advantage of these opportunities as they arise.”
