NE Climate Partnership Wins Adaptation Award

The North East Climate Change Partnership wins award for adaptation study.

A study looking at the possible future climate North East England and how the region can adapt has won the Institute of Civil Engineering's (ICE) Robert Stephenson Special Award for Sustainability 2009.

The North East Climate Change Adaptation Study (launched in 2008) assessed the impact of climate change and outlined what was needed to prepare and adapt. Adrian Hilton Regional Climate Change Coordinator for the North East said: This award raises the profile of climate change the study the region and the engineering profession and will greatly assist the integration of climate change risks � underpinning our aim of developing the North East of England as a well-adapted and resilient region.
