Comments from IEMA members on the consultation are needed to ensure that the NOS for environmental practitioners are appropriate, relevant and reflect good practice.
NOS can be used by employers, employees, academic institutions and training organisations to:
describe the skills required to perform a role; assess the organisation's existing skills; develop training and recruitment plans; establish descriptions of good practice; inform the content of training as they specify in detail what constitutes good practice; and develop bench marking exercises either internally or to compare with other similar organisations.The closing date for consultation responses is the 9th January 2009.
