Waste Strategy for England 2007 Published

Amid a flurry of Government publications, Defra last week released the �Waste Strategy for England 2007'. The Strategy emphasises more effective incentives for individuals and businesses to recycle waste; a greater responsibility on businesses for the environmental impact of their products and operations; and strong emphasis on waste prevention. The Strategy also outlines action the Government proposes for its own estate � a 25 per cent reduction in waste by 2020 and 75 per cent of waste recycled by 2020.
