Czech Environment Minister to introduce tax on carbon dioxide

Czech Environment Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Martin Bursik (Green Party SZ) said that he was considering introducing a tax on the emissions of carbon dioxide that as a greenhouse gas causes global warming. The tax could be introduced as of 2010 and should be included as a provision in the environmental tax reform Bursik said. He said that his main goal was to motivate the producers of energy to introduce new modern technologies. His proposal will now be analysed by experts.
