Climate Change is firmly on the agenda in Sheffield after Sheffield First Environment Partnership announced plans to host the first ever exhibition for Renewable Energy and the Environment; a unique event designed to showcase manufacturers and organisations working towards solutions for global warming.

‘Sheffield Is My Planet – The Exhibition’ will take place at Sheffield City Hall on Wednesday 7th February 2007 and will bring together ideas technology and good practice from around the city region.

BBC television weather personality Paul Hudson will formally open the exhibition which will demonstrate how Sheffield has established itself as the location of choice for high-growth leading edge companies in the sustainable energy and technology sectors.

Delegates will also have the chance to experience interactive demonstrations and look at the latest innovations in the climate change field. The exhibition is part of a series of climate change events taking place in February as part of Sheffield Is My Planet Week. Other events taking place include an international conference art exhibition and Care4Air awards ceremony.

Nick Tovey Vice-Chair of the Sheffield First Environment Partnership said: “Sheffield Is My Planet - The Exhibition will allow both the corporate sector and the general public to gain a valuable insight into the innovative work being done in the city region to tackle climate change.

“Sheffield is at the forefront in providing sustainable technologies and ideas and this unique event will both recognise and champion local manufacturers and organisations involved with the delivery of solutions to global warming.”
