Many schools adopting this approach have already reduced energy and water use and costs.

Schools Design Forum (SDF) workshop report SDF is a new initiative that brings together leading practitioners committed to changing the way sustainability is understood, delivered and shared in schools.

A recently published report (BR492) outlines the responses from an SDF workshop on the sustainable design of schools, and provides a stimulating and wide-ranging insight into how the built environment can play its part in making the learning environment more sustainable.
