Bulgaria's Enviornment Legislation Harmonised with European

The harmonisation of Bulgarian environment legislation with European standards has been completed Environment and Water Affairs Minister Djevdet Chakurov said.Chakurov is on a visit to Brussels where he met members of the Committee for Environment Public Health and Food Safety at the European Parliament.
More than 90 EU regulatory documents were introduced to Bulgarian environmental legilsation in the past 10 years Chakurov said. Once the measures were introduced society needed to start enforcing them Chakurov said.
At least 10 billion leva were going to be needed to put intro practice the new regulations said he. Bulgaria implemented six national programmes in the spheres of waste management biodiversity air quality and climate change. Further programmes were needed in relation to EU directives on air quality industrial pollution and risk management.
