Nappies – reusables vs disposables: making the right choice
That age old argument well certainly over the past 10 - 20 years is set to be debated again on Monday July 4 2005 in London where The Resource Recovery Forum is to bring together the key stakeholders in the current and controversial nappies (diapers) debate for a one-day conference.Following the recent nappies Life Cycle Assessment study published by the Environment Agency for England & Wales the RRF event will look at the issues to be addressed in deciding between nappy types and associated waste management systems.
The authors of the LCA study (ERM) will be there to talk about the LCA process and their conclusions. There will also be representatives of the Environment Agency WRAP Defra the disposables sector (AHPMA) the Womens' Environmental Network (WEN) disposable nappy recyclers the Nappy Alliance waste management companies and local authorities.
The conference will take place on Monday July 4 2005 at the Cavendish Conference Centre central London.
This will be an excellent opportunity to focus in detail on the policy and practice implications of the study and also to learn about the topic as viewed from outside the UK. If you work for a local authority a recycler a waste company a policy-maker the community sector or are simply interested to learn more - then this is for you.
