Boots Group Plc was one of the first host companies to sign up to the Envirowise scheme. With over 3 000 product lines and 5 000 suppliers, managing the supply chain is an important function of the company's business. Retail Therapy showed Boots clear benefits to both its own business and the 11 suppliers that took part.
'The Envirowise supply chain partnership helped us make more resource efficient links with our supply base and within weeks we identified savings of almost 250 000,' said Robert Brown, Technical Consultant for Boots Group PLC
Envirowise are now expanding the Supply Chain Partnership programme by;
involving more host companies in a range of sectors
offering host companies and their key suppliers an initial diagnostic visit from an expert Advisor
following up with more detailed visits looking at the particular challenges each business faces
supporting these visits with 3 one-day workshops covering the 'big' cost issues, namely waste & water minimisation, packaging & cleaner design, and energy
