Design with distinction: the value of good building design in higher education

04/05/2005

Funded by the UK Higher Education Funding Councils this report investigates the links between high quality design and the recruitment retention and performance of staff and students.

It uses five new buildings at UK universities as case studies and is based on a wide range questionnaires interviews and focus groups. Amongst other findings it shows that well-designed campus buildings can play a significant role in the recruitment and the behaviour of university students and staff.
