By 2010 IEMA aims to be the premier body setting the standards and promoting environmental training to supply the needs of environmental practitioners regulators NGOs and anyone involved in implementing environmental solutions. In order to do this IEMA will ensure that qualifications and training courses meet the needs of environmental professionals and industry and build up a programme of CPD to support their development.
A five year programme will be implemented so that within this timeframe IEMA will be in a position to offer recognition of:
- an appropriate portfolio of training courses
- different levels of training within a modular framework so that there is a strong incentive towards progression and professional development within the discipline
- a greater diversity of recognised environmental related courses which will be continually expanded
- a more flexible approach to learning
This approach will provide a structured and clear pathway through environmental training and a programme of courses to increase environmental professionalism.
