Launched in 2019 to convene fast climate action in the UK’s environmental sector, PTNZ requires signatories to commit to deliver a greenhouse gas target in line with either a 1.5°C climate change scenario, or well below 2°C. So far, 84 firms and Institutions have joined up, covering around 80% of the UK environmental consulting market.
In this session we heard presentations from WSP, IEMA and a selection of leading scheme participants, sharing their most impactful actions to cut carbon which can be applied across all sectors.
We also provided an update on the UN’s Race To Zero programme. This is the UN’s main campaign ahead of COP26 and Pledge To Net Zero has now been formally accepted as a partner to this high profile programme.
NEWS - Pledge To Net Zero, has formally joined the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s (UNFCCC) Race to Zero campaign. PTNZ participants committed to a 1.5°C trajectory can therefore now also be part of this broader UNFCCC campaign in the build up to COP26. A coalition representing 23 regions, 454 cities, 1,397 companies, 569 universities, and 74 investors, alone making up over 12% of the global economy.
