Mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain - New Guidance for Practitioners from IEMA

Mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) in England is a provision in the Environment Act (2021) and came into force in England earlier this year. BNG requires new major developments to deliver at least a 10% increase in biodiversity and is enforced through the planning system.

It’s a big deal and this is why IEMA, CIEEM and CIRIA have come together to create this practitioner guide that provides all the information professionals need to understand the BNG processes and key related government asks in one place.
