IEMA, CBRE, and Stickerbook Join Forces to Promote Sustainable Awareness
In a world increasingly concerned about the pressing issue of sustainability, IEMA has teamed up with Stickerbook, a sustainability education software solution to support employee knowledge and skills development, and CBRE, a global leader in commercial real estate services and investments to champion sustainable practices among staff. This collaboration promises to make sustainability learning fun, accessible, and engaging, as it strives to inspire change and drive us toward a more sustainable future. The power of stickers in promoting sustainability
Stickers might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of sustainability, but that's precisely what makes this partnership so innovative. IEMA and Stickerbook recognise the universal appeal of stickers and sticker collecting, which is why the digital version of a Stickerbook is a simple, yet impactful way to convey important messages. With this in mind, they've designed a range of digital custom stickers featuring IEMA's sustainability messages, particularly focusing on its Skills Map.
The IEMA Skills Map enables anyone working, studying, or interested in the environment and sustainability to understand the main challenges, and most importantly the skills and knowledge required to make meaningful change. The map also helps people understand what is required to develop a career in environmental management and sustainability, or even just to know the basics about these issues and how they impact an organisation. Establishing a clear link between professional standards and Continual Professional Development (CPD).
These stickers are bitesize learning content which are up to five minutes long and are not only available to CBRE colleagues but will soon be available to other organisations through the Stickerbook platform.
Sarah Mukherjee MBE, the CEO of IEMA, said, "We are thrilled to partner with Stickerbook to promote sustainable awareness. Stickerbook is a fun and accessible way to spread messages and engage with people across an entire organisation. By working together, we can create a positive impact and encourage more people to take action towards a more sustainable future."
Spreading sustainability through Stickerbook
Simon Kelly, Co-Founder of Stickerbook, is equally enthusiastic about this collaboration. He believes that gamifying sustainability learning journeys is the key to making a positive change in organisational culture. Stickerbook's mission is to simplify and make sustainability learning fun, and this partnership aligns perfectly with their goals.
Kelly said, "With this partnership, we hope to inspire employees to think about the impact of their actions on the environment and take steps towards a greener future." Stickerbook's approach to gamifying sustainability learning is designed to break down complex ideas into bite-sized actions, making it accessible and engaging for every individual.
The impact of stickers on green skills training
The stickers created through this partnership will provide information on a wide range of skills and knowledge required to make meaningful changes. This includes skills such as analytical thinking, relationship development, innovation, and problem reframing. These are all essential components of driving a sustainable future.
But it's not just about the stickers; it's about the impact they have on learning and behaviour change. Stickerbook's approach combines various tools, such as gamification and micro-learning, to promote strategic green skills learning for all employees. Each person is assigned a unique set of stickers based on their role, all aligned with internationally recognized frameworks like IEMA's Skills Map and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Lesley Holloway, head of Corporate ESG at CBRE, said, "The results are impressive. With over 2000 hours of learning, more than 85 per cent of the business engaged, and 79 per cent of employees agreeing that it gave them the green skills to discuss sustainability with clients and customers, it's evident that this partnership is making a difference."
In a world where sustainability is of paramount importance, the collaboration between IEMA, Stickerbook and CBRE is apositive step in the right direction. By making sustainability learning accessible and enjoyable through stickers, they're not just raising awareness; they're inspiring meaningful change, one sticker at a time.
