IEMA welcomes new policy and practice team starters
This week three new staff members join IEMA’s policy and practice team to take forward our work on biodiversity circular economy and business partnership building with Natural England’s Nature Recovery Network.Lesley Wilson
IEMA has recruited Lesley to deliver our policy and practice work on biodiversity and natural capital. This includes establishing a member steering group to advise on IEMA’s work in these areas.
Lesley joins us from the British Standards Institute (BSI) where she has held the role of Lead Standards Development Manager for the last decade. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge across a broad range of environmental issues alongside key stakeholder management and engagement skills that will be integral as she takes over the management of the UK Business and Biodiversity Forum on behalf of IEMA.
Adam Batchelor
We welcome Adam as our new policy and engagement lead for circular economy and environmental auditing.
Adam joins us from the Greater London Authority where he has worked as a senior environmental policy advisor to the London Mayor. From the policy perspective specifically Adam’s appointment will bolster our knowledge of the mechanics of government by offering us an insider’s perspective. This will help us to think more critically about our approach to policy development across all of the issues that we are actively engaged in.
Immediate priorities for Adam will be working with the circular economy steering group to develop its extended resource ownership model for the construction industry plus completing a review of IEMA’s environmental auditor register.
Jon Moore
Jon is joining IEMA for a period of 6 months from one of our large corporate partners Sweco.
Working closely with Natural England he will be responsible for generating interest and support for England’s Nature Recovery Network within the business community.
We extend a big welcome to Lesley Adam and Jon!
