Dr. Uche Okere
Academic Lead – Environmental Management at the University of Derby
Uche Okere completed a PhD at Lancaster University in 2012 by investigating the interactions between microorganisms and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in pristine soil environments. He has since taught environmental management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in UK Universities.
He has also worked with the IEMA to develop and deliver professional training courses to environmental professionals in various sectors including oil and gas, maritime and finance in the UK and abroad.
Dr Okere is currently Academic Lead for Environmental Management at the University of Derby and has research interests in education for sustainable development among others.
