Role description:

We are looking for an experienced Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Due Diligence Consultant to join our Sustainable Operations group. We are a dynamic team, focused on delivering transaction solutions, and EHS and compliance assessments to our clients across a wide range of sectors, from aviation, to industrials, to financial, residential and many others in between. Often, we will be working with other Arcadis teams undertaking asset or commercial due diligence, both in the UK and internationally.

While the role is based in our transaction advisory team, there will be scope to grow your skills and capabilities within the wider EHS Advisory team environment. The pace will be fast and the environment dynamic, you will have the scope to lead a commission and a team, but always you have the support of senior colleagues and the People first approach of the Arcadis culture.

Role accountabilities:

As an ESG Due Diligence Consultant, you will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments of prospective investments, acquisitions, and partnerships, evaluating their ESG performance and potential risks. You will work closely with our clients to provide strategic recommendations, enabling them to make well-informed decisions aligned with their sustainability goals.

The focus of the role will be delivering technically excellent projects to ensure our clients' highest expectations are fulfilled, responding to opportunities, creating winning proposals, and helping grow the team revenues.

Duties of the role will include but is not limited to:
  • Managing due diligence projects leading personnel from a variety of backgrounds and specialties, from within Arcadis UK, other Arcadis locations and external experts
  • Rigorously but efficiently analyse data, trends and practices to identify key risks and opportunities for our clients
  • Present detailed information in a clear and concise format, and technically review report deliverables in compliance with business quality systems
  • Produce and coordinate ESG due diligence reports on target properties and organisations
  • Create and respond to opportunities to deliver transaction advisory services
  • Support on the development of winning bids including, proposal development and budgets, compliance with business governance, and transitioning successful bids into a well-planned project delivery phase

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Demonstratable experience in working in transaction environments with a detailed understanding of technical ESG and EHS issues and commercial matters, preferably within an environmental consultancy
  • Knowledge of current and emerging ESG investment and compliance trends
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills, including efficient preparation of ESG Due Diligence reports and Environmental Phase I assessments.
  • Experience of different formats of digital presentation of report findings would be an advantage
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field. Additional certifications or qualifications in ESG or sustainable finance will be advantageous.
  • NEBOSH Certificate and understanding of key H&S regulations preferred
  • Desired: Chartership or Working towards Chartership
