Social Value Manager - Environmental Sustainability

Social value is a core part of our culture and is embedded in much of our existing public sector work. With even more focus on bringing our social value commitments to fruition, we are seeking a Social Value Manager- Environmental Sustainability, to coordinate the realisation of these efforts. In this role you will manage and oversee the delivery and monitoring of our social value commitments, procedures and partnerships, ensuring we bring these to life in the contractual commitments we already have in place for existing business and for new business secured.
In this role you will support our Public Sector team to develop and implement strategies and programmes which will allow our clients to realise ambitions commitments around climate change and resources. You will support sustainability certifications, reporting, performance management and ESG advisory and this role is crucial in driving our environmental initiatives across all Public Sector clients.
The role is based in London, and you will be expected to travel onsite 2 to 3 times a week. Travel might be required across the UK occasionally.

Some of your key responsibilities will be to:
- You will lead on delivery of social value commitments in line Cognizant's social value strategy, project planning and delivering for multiple clients against a set plan of commitments. This includes preparing action plan for social value bids.
- You will develop and manage sustainability projects aimed at reducing waste, emissions, and energy consumption, ensuring they are compliant with the relevant legislation. This includes supervising the impact assessments to identify, evaluate and reduce our environmental risks and financial costs to the us and the client.
- You will own the full delivery of specific events which are aligned with our commitment plan This includes finding partners to deliver on those commitments, co-ordinating and booking clients, cognizant teams, and venues and hosting the events.
- You will oversee the delivery of some of our core programmes including Apprentice Levy and Levy Transfer, Bootcamps, Work Experience, Cognizant Women in Technology Leadership MSc programme.
- You will monitor, evaluate, budget and report performance against planned objectives, deliverables and milestones.
- You will engage a broad network of external and internal partners across multiple channels, platforms and activities to advance Cognizant's reputation plus to support delivery.
- You will handle our social value reporting against the IES framework and in Thrive to ensure it is outstanding, relevant and impactful.
- You will stay up to date with environmental and sustainable trends which could impact future work with clients.
The experience you will need to demonstrate:
- A passion in understanding social value and Experience in delivering social value programmes or initiatives including Diversity and inclusion.
- Experience working in sustainability and the environment, knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
- Proven experience in conducting environmental impact assessments and audits.
- Good understanding of major sustainability disclosure frameworks (such as GRI, SASB, CDP, Ecovadis).
- You will be a great communicator with the ability to build effective and balanced relationships.
- Time management and prioritisation skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Numerical skills and commercial acumen.
- Advances Excel skills.
