Faith & Sustainability: Understanding and Creating Personal and Collective Action through Shared Values

March 2019

Posted on Mar 27, 2019

An estimated 80% of the world’s population associates themselves with a faith. People of faith, whether they are individuals or are associated with a mosque, a church, a synagogue or a temple, have the power to influence those who share similar faith values. What is more, as we struggle to engage people effectively around climate change, faith provides the shared identity and values around which we can build compelling and effective narratives of personal and collective action. In this webinar, we’ll explore the role that the faith community plays in promoting sustainability, and the role language plays in communicating sustainability with people of faith.

I really enjoyed the webinar and it was enlightening as a person of faith and as a sustainability professional. It would be great to have to George Marshall back for another webinar solely on tailoring climate communications for various audiences. As a person who works in finance in a developing country, it has been difficult to 'sell' green/sustainable finance when everyone is more concerned about their bottom lines.
