Combined postage and packaging rates are specified according to destinations in postal regions listed below. These are the UK, EU, Non-EU Europe, World 1 and World 2. The rates and estimated delivery times are for airmail. If the package is particularly heavy you may prefer to pay surface mail charges, which are lower, but there could be a considerable time interval between the date of posting and your receipt of the package. If you would like the package sent by surface mail you should contact the Institute at iemashop@iema.net and you will be advised of the postage and packaging rate.
UK Shipping
The following countries are included in our definition of the UK for delivery purposes: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. For deliveries to the Republic of Ireland, please see our delivery rates for Europe - within the EU. Normally, you can expect to receive the items within five working days after we have processed your payment (please allow 10 days for Earthscan, Greenleaf & EIC publications). Postage and packaging prices for delivery in the UK are shown in the appropriate table below, a small handling charge is included in the price.

Europe - within the European Union
Normally, you can expect to receive the items within five working days (10 days for Earthscan publications) after we have processed your payment. The combined postage and packaging prices for Europe are shown in the appropriate table below, a small handling charge is included in the prices.
VAT (UK and EU)
In the European Union, books are zero-rated for VAT purposes whereas CDs have a VAT rate of 17.5%. When a books are ordered together with CDs, VAT is added only to the CDs.
Europe - outside the European Union
Normally, you can expect to receive the items within five working days after we have processed your payment. Postage and packaging prices for Europe are shown in the appropriate table below, a small handling charge is included in the prices.
World 1
Normally, you can expect to receive the items within seven working days - post allowing, after we have processed your payment. Postage and packaging prices for World 1 are shown in the appropriate table below, a small handling charge is included in the prices.
World 2
If the country you have selected as your delivery destination is not included in our lists for the UK, EC, Europe and World 1, then for the purpose of calculating postage and packaging it is regarded as World 2. Normally, you can expect to receive the items within ten working days - post allowing, after we have processed your payment. Postage and packaging prices for World 2 are shown in the appropriate table below, a small handling charge is included in the prices.
What do I do if my publications fail to arrive?
If your publications do not arrive within the time specified, please contact iemashop@iema.net who will be able to trace the whereabouts of the items you have purchased and advise you accordingly.

Please note that orders cannot be dispatched without payment. If you do not send a cheque (payable to the IEMA) or credit card details with your order, you will receive a pro forma invoice for payment prior to delivery.
Customs Information
When ordering goods from the IEMA for delivery overseas, you may be subject to import duties and taxes which are levied when the package reaches your country. Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you - we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they might be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so you should contact your local customs office for further information. Also, when ordering from us, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.
Generally, customs forms for international packages will list the value of the contents of your order by product type. For instance, orders containing CDs and books will generally be listed in a way similar to the following example:
- Books value £15.00
- CD value £10.00
Your privacy is important to us. We would like our international customers to be aware that cross-border deliveries are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities. Also, we may provide certain order, delivery and product information, such as titles, to our international carriers and such information may be communicated by the carriers to customs authorities in order to facilitate clearance and to comply with local laws.
