Title:One Wales: One Planet: Consultation on a new sustainable development scheme for Wales
Organisation:Welsh Assembly Government
Issued:Fri 28 November 2008
Deadline: 04 February 2009
Status: CLOSED Consultation is closed for comments
Synopsis:Welsh Ministers have a duty under the Government of Wales Act 2006 to have a Scheme that explains how they intend to promote sustainable development. Jane Davidson, Minister for Environment, Sustainability and Housing recently announced her decision to recreate this Scheme for Sustainable Development. The Scheme aims to set out a way to improve the well-being of the people of Wales and move us to using only our fair share of the earth’s finite resources. The Scheme will identify a number of new commitments to promote sustainable development. We would like your views on the new Scheme. Specific questions are outlined in the consultation document.
The IEMA are planning to provide a response to this consultation in conjunction with the members Steering Group for Wales. We are seeking comments from our members in order to compile our response. We would be grateful if any membber who is interested in responding could send their comments using the consultation response form by email to <ahref="technical@iema.net">technical@iema.net by 21 January 2009 so we can compile our final response in time for the 4 February 2009 deadline.
