Specialist Registers

IEMA currently operates the following three specialist registers. Please click on the headings for more details.

IEMA Registered Auditors
The Environmental Auditors Register has been in operation for over ten years and is internationally recognised. The register currently has over 1,650 auditors listed in over 50 countries worldwide.

IEMA Environmental Impact Assessor
The EIA Practitioner Register scheme was developed between 1999 and 2002 and launched at IEMA's Annual Conference in April 2002. The scheme is the result of extensive international consultations and a pilot exercise in which all the major elements in the scheme were tested. The scheme is aimed at all those currently involved in EIA activities from consultants and developers to environmental regulators, both in the UK and internationally.

Specialist in Land Condition (SiLC)
The Specialist in Land Condition (SiLC) registration scheme was initially designed to support the use of the Land Condition Record, launched by the Urban Task Force in 1999. The verification of facts detailed in the LCR by a registered individual or a ‘SiLC’ give the highest confidence in, and credibility to, the information it contains.
A registered SiLC can be expected to demonstrate a broad awareness, knowledge and understanding, of land condition issues and be able to give impartial and professional advice in their field of expertise.
The SiLC Professional and Technical Panel (PTP), consists of representatives from suitable professional bodies, the PTP was established to develop and implement this registration scheme. The panel acts as the ruling committee in all registrations. IEMA acts as home and secretariat for the registration scheme on behalf of the SiLC PTP.
