Abstract:

In May 2001, the Council achieved accreditation to the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme. This process involved setting a range of environmental objectives to challenge the Council to improve environmental performance. The contents of this statement have been verified by an independent auditor and demonstrate progress towards meeting our EMAS objectives. This statement merely reports on significant changes since the publication of the last full environmental statement covering the period from April 2002 to March 2003.
