Abstract:Revising the EMAS Regulation offered an opportunity and a challenge. The challenge was to maintain the elements of the existing scheme which give EMAS, and those who participate, credibility whilst at the same time provide greater opportunity for more organisations to become involved and create greater flexibility in the way in which environmental information can be communicated. The revised regulation succeeds on both counts.
